Selection Process

Candidates will undergo a series of tests and assessments based on the post they are applying for.

1. Written Exam: Objective-style questions encompassing JK Police statutes, general knowledge, thinking, and quantitative skills.

All positions require the written test (Constable, SI, ASI).

• Test of Physical Efficiency (PET):

 Constables: In a timed exam, candidates must cover predetermined running distances.

 SI & ASI: Physical activities such as long jump and running.

PMT, or physical measurement test

             Height:

       Male: At least 160 cm (ST); 168 cm (General, OBC, SC)

                   Female: 147 cm (ST); minimum 152 cm (General, OBC, SC)

        Male chest: 79 cm at minimum (General, OBC, SC), with an additional 84 cm.

        ST candidates: 77 cm minimum, expanding to 82 cm.

• Verification of Documents: Required to present proof of age, education, and residency, among other things.

1. Final Merit List: Compiled based on scores in the written examination, PET, PMT, and document verification.
